Principal Officer

Pula Medical Aid Fund was established in 1991 and is administered by Associated Fund Administrators Botswana (AFA) (Pty) Ltd. The Administrators, appointed by the Board of Trustees in terms of the Fund Rules, are responsible for the execution of the operational business of the Fund under the direction of the Board of Trustees.

Pula Medical Aid Fund is looking for dynamic and energetic individuals to fill the position of Principal Officer. Reporting directly to the Pula Board, the successful applicant will be responsible for the day to day management of the fund’s affairs. Provide oversight and ensure efficient and excellent management of the Fund’s financial and operational activities directly and through contracted parties as may be determined by the Board of Trustees from time to time. Ensure development, implementation and execution of the fund’s corporate strategy, including enterprise risk management.

Requirements
The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications, experience and competencies:
• Qualified healthcare professional, with additional qualifications in Financial management services (e.g. Masters of Business Administration) or qualified finance professional (ACCA,CIMA,Actuary)
• 5yrs experience in a Management position in the finance or health sectors, preferably in the medical aid or insurance industry
• Experience at executive management would be an added advantage

• Knowledge, application and improvement of policies and procedures
• Knowledge, application and compliance to relevant legislation and regulation
• Knowledge and application of forecasting and budgeting methodology
• Interpretation of financial statements
• Strategy orientation
• Executive business writing skills
• Demonstrates business acumen
• Ability to build effective teams
• Innovates and takes risks
• Enterprise and Health risk management would be an added advantage.
The Fund offers a competitive remuneration package commensurate with an organization its size.
