Safety Officer
Purpose:
The safety officer is responsible for assisting in all safety oversight activities in the work place. He will also assist in the development of Engineering and maintenance (MNT) safety documentation and its revisions. He/she will also be responsible for the implementation of the safety audit plan, promotion of safety awareness and conducting of company incidents/accidents.
Key performance areas
1. Development and review of company safety manuals,policies,guidelines and procedures
2. Investigations of incidents/accidents
3. Development of safety audit checklists to address site or airplane specific requirements
4. Development of an independent and comprehensive safety audit system to monitor and confirm adherence to company safety policies and procedures by all personnel.
5. Data collection of all safety data.
6. Feedback on Hazards and investigations to all engineering staff.
Requirements
A minimum of Diploma in Aeronautical engineering or equivalent and possession of safety management system training is required.
Basic understanding and experience in aircraft maintenance will be an added advantage
