Farm Supervisor
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Farm Supervisor to be based in Letlhakane-Boteti overseeing all operations of horticulture, free range chickens and small stock farm. The ideal Farm Supervisor should have experience of working on medium to large scale farming operations.
The main responsibilities of the successful farm supervisor will be:
• Overseeing the day to day operations of the farm
• Work closely with farm management to ensure that best practices are maintained
• Develop operational performance to improve crop yields throughout the farm
• Planting and growing of vegetables
• Fertilizer application
• Irrigation scheduling
• Control and supervise staff
• Understand land preparation for vegetables
• Be able to identify pests and diseases
• Be able to calibrate fertilization and spray equipment
• Ensure the product is of the prescribed standard before delivery to customers.
• Manage the security of the land and perimeters
• Check end manage machinery on the farm
• Must have a minimum B drivers license
Minimum Requirements:
• A minimum of 5 years in an agricultural supervision role is essential
• Tertiary agricultural management or equivalent qualification
• Word and excel
• Speak and understanding of Setswana and English advantageous
• Experience in the establishment of horticulture, free range chickens and small stock would be beneficial
• Knowledge and maintenance of irrigation system
• Good supervisory and management skills
• Highly competitive package with housing available on the farm
