North East District Council invites applications from proactive, assertive and suitably qualified Botswana Citizens for the above mentioned positions tenable in North East District Council.
Vacancy: Transport Officer/ii/I (Re-advertisement)

Salary: C4.3/2/1 (P62 136-P141 516)per annum
Benefits:
• Contributory Pension Fund Scheme (Government contributes 15% and employee contributes 5%)
• Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%)
Leave: 30 working days per annum
Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Fleet Management/Transport Economics or any related.
Main purpose of the job: Responsible for allocation of vehicles and drivers in relation to the departmental work details under authority delegated to him/her by the department.
Duties:
• Monitors vehicle logbooks usage
• Registration, licensing vehicles, plant and special equipment
• Conducts sport checks on council vehicles to determine misuse through inspection of log books
• Work in close liaison with the mechanical workshops for the maintenance of vehicles
• Prepares vehicles statics and record including boarding procedures and maintenance of the fleet register
• Undertakes other duties as directed by management
