The national food technology research centre( NFTRC) , a government funded food science and technology research institution based in Kanye, Botswana invites applications from qualified and experienced persons for the positions of:

Vacancy Circular No 7, (DRD 2014) Research Scientist - Food Technology

Applications are invited for the above position within the research and development division.

Main purpose of the job:
To participate in the planning and development of research programmes and projects, carryout research and develop food products, testing of food products, materials, production processes and procedures, conducting field trials, develop new technologies or facilitate the transfer of appropriate technology to customers and stakeholders in line with the mandate of the centre.

• Research and development outputs
• Evidence of product development and materials tested
• Quality of research reports and publications
• Participation in technology transfer activities
• Customer satisfaction survey reports
• Compliance with research standards and procedures

Requirements:
A master’s degree in food technology, food science, food engineering or a closely related discipline is required. In addition, the position requires good interpersonal and communication skills, research experience from the food industry will be an added advantage.
