We invite applicants who believe in educating children to be creative, independent and motivated learners. Thorn hill is one of the leading private primary schools in Botswana, established in 1966. We currently have over 600 pupils from over 40 different nations around the world. The school has excellent facilities providing a caring and nurturing environment in which each child is able to develop his or her full potential.

1. Foundation phase teachers (reception – Std 2)
2. Senior primary school teachers (standard 3 - 7)
3. Language teacher (reception – standard 7)
4. Special educational needs teacher (SEN)

Qualifications/requirements for the above positions

• Minimum of ¾ years diploma in foundation/junior primary school
• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience is preferred,
• Language teacher, ability to teach French will be an added advantage
• SEN teacher, remedial/second language qualifications and registration as a test user will be an added advantage,
• Must add value to the extra curricular programme,
• Must be computer literate.

Vacancy – head teacher
We are seeking a candidate with the ability to:-

• Provide strategic leadership and management in the day to day running of the school;
• Develop and lead a team of outstanding teachers;
• Build and promote the thorn hill brand;
• Facilitate the on-going development of academic excellence.

The applicants must have proven:
• Experience in a broad range of operational responsibilities
• Computer skills including the use of internal and external educational learning environments, sound knowledge of file maker pro database development and administration and the use of Microsoft office in an administrative role.

The successful applicant will meet the following criteria:
• Have a degree/diploma in education, current management experience and thorough understanding of Cambridge primary curriculum;
• Minimum of 5 years leadership experience in an institution of excellence;
• Be willing to be involved in extra mural activities, including sport coaching
• Have effective organizational, communication and administrative skills.
• Support the ethos of the school in line with the mission and vision statements.
