The Botswana Institute for Technology Research and Innovation (BITRI) is a newly established technology research institute whose mandate is to undertake research. Identify and or develop appropriate technologies in line with national priorities and needs of Botswana. Electron Microscopy Scientist
Main purpose of the job:
• To maintain and ensure the smooth operation of HRSEM with a STEM detector.
• To provide direct support to BITRI researchers on HRSEM.
• To perform SEM analysis in support of the Botswana industry
Education:
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry, biological sciences or geology. A higher qualification would be an added advantage.
Experience and working knowledge.
• A minimum of 8 years operational experience of SEM, of which at least 6 years should be from a research institute
• Experience working with nonmaterial’s
• Extensive knowledge of SEM and TEM sample preparation
• Evidence of relevant research publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Experience working with TEM would be an added advantage.

Remuneration
BITRI offer attractive working conditions and remuneration commensurate with qualifications and experience. The above posts are for five years fixed term contracts.
