Engineering Technician (Electrical)

Engineering Technician (Electrical)
Reporting to the Foreman of the relevant section, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
• Physical inspects and maintains and reports all winders and associated equipment in accordance with statutory requirements and planned maintenance schedules
• Physically inspects, maintains and repairs compressors, cooling towers, pumps, main mine ventilations fans and oxygen plant
• Keeps and maintains stock of essential regularly used parts applicable to his section to ensure unnecessary delays in the event of a breakdown
• Reads and interprets technical manuals, drawings and hydraulic diagrams, uses these for fault findings and precision set up of equipment
• Identifies and diagnoses recurrent or potential problems and assists the Foreman in seeking and implementing a solution
• Carries out inspection and testing of pressure vessels in conjunction with the section engineer
• Supervises and allocates work to subordinate artisans and operatives on a daily basis
• Over inspects work as necessary on completion
• Training of subordinates y instruction and contributing to mandatory work performance
• Ensure safe working procedures and practices are followed for all work under his control
• Ensure that the BCL isolation procedures are correctly performed
Job requirements
• Technicians Diploma
• 5 years experience
• Knowledge and experience of DCS/SCADA Systems (ABB,Siemens,GE Fanuc)
• Experience in trouble shooting pneumatic systems, and instrumentation loops
• Must have a valid driver’s licence
