Majwe Mining joint venture (Pty) Ltd has been engaged as a contractor for the cut 8 contract Mining-phase 2 project by Debswana at the Jwaneng Mine. This project commenced in November 2011, to move over 156 million BCM of waste material to expand the current mine and it is an important contribution to the economy of Botswana. The company requires the services of knowledgeable, highly skilled and self-driven individuals for the following position.

Job summary
Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, the incumbent will ensure that day to day maintenance of Majwe houses is carried out safely to the manufactures’ recommendations and ensures completion of mechanical/civil project work has been undertaken by contractors on Majwe mining houses. Assists and complete adhoc tasks as per employees work requests submitted and ensure housing inspection are performed and defects attended accordingly.

Key responsibilities
- To develop a maintenance strategy plan for all housing maintenance
- Daily supervision of all activities, facilities, contractors and personnel on site
- Coordinate all housing maintenance functions and ensure deviations corrections are done in minimal possible time.
- Manage and maintain a relation between Majwe and house maintenance contractors
- Generate and distribute accurate weekly and monthly progress reports
- Assist with insurance of Permits to work for contractors
- Compiles housing maintenance reports for management
- Applies health safety environment (HSE) standards in all maintenance activities in order to minimize risks and environment impact.
- Responsible for subordinate effectiveness and performance management requirements for all his subordinates
- Responsible for on the job training and coaching o his subordinates
Job requirements
- Full trade apprentice qualification in electrical/mechanical/construction management qualification or related trade.
- At least 8 years experience in Housing Maintenance 2 of which should have been at supervisory level
- Must have a valid class “B” driver’s license
