An affiliate john Hopkins university, a global leader in improving health care for women and their families, seeks to recruit highly qualified staff to support the ministry of health as part of the national safe male circumcision (SMC) program and Botswana combination prevention project (Ya Tsie).
Position: SMC Medical Officer
This position is responsible for providing skilled circumcision services to eligible persons in Botswana at designated ministry of health facilities outside Gaborone. The position will entail frequent travel to support outreach and mass circumcision activities in other parts of Botswana. There will be close collaboration with other members of the team, facility management and district health management team.
Required competencies: MD with good surgical skills; registered with BHPC; trained in SMC; minimum of one year of work experience in Botswana; experience with SMC service delivery in Botswana; proficiency; experience with SMC service delivery in Botswana; proficiency in spoken and written English; good interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
