An affiliate john Hopkins university, a global leader in improving health care for women and their families, seeks to recruit highly qualified staff to support the ministry of health as part of the national safe male circumcision (SMC) program and Botswana combination prevention project (Ya Tsie).
Position: SMC Program Manager
The program manager will be responsible for providing technical guidance to the jhpiego SMC program. The position entails fostering strategic partnerships with relevant stakeholders such as MOH, BDF and funding organizations; strategic planning and overseeing program implementation. The program manager will collaborate with finance & admin, monitoring & evaluation units and jhpiego head office finance & admin, monitoring & evaluation units and jhpiego head office to ensure smooth running of the program. This position will require frequent in-country travel.
Required competencies: master’ degree in health sciences, clinical background and strong leadership and management skills. Good written and spoken English and Setswana; good interpersonal and communication and negotiating skills. At least 5 years experience in management position required. Previous training and experience with male circumcision services is preferred. Experience in working with USG funded projects is an added advantage.
