Deputy Director, Road Transport and Safety
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, talented, decisive and self-driven individuals for the above mentioned position in the department of road transport and safety. Preference will be given to qualified citizens.
Main purpose of the job:
To coordinate activities of the department by ensuring that the transport system is well developed and facilitated through the provision of all necessary facilities such as issuance of licenses, permits , road worthiness certificates.

Duties:
• Provides professional advice and technical support to the stakeholders
• Supervises the implementation of services level agreements between Govt and agencies (BURS and Botswana post)
• Initiates stakeholders for a on plans , procedures challenges, achievements and policies of the department
• Facilitates re-engineering of business processes
• Coordinates the development and review of policies, legislation, strategies plans and programmes aimed at improving the department service delivery.
• Facilitates the implementation of orders, circulars and standing orders guiding the operations and general conduct of staff.
• Facilitates the development and signing of bilateral agreements
• Coordinates quarterly performance review for the department
• Manages adherence to financial instructions
• Financial management
Salary scale: E2(P294 972-306 888 per annum)
Leave: 30 working days per annum
Benefits:
Optional contributory medical aid scheme (government pays 50% and employee pays 50%)

Appointment is on a fixed term contract of 24-36 months-(renewable) with gratuity payable at the end of the contract at the rate of 25% of the total amount of basic salary earned for the duration of the contract.
Qualifications:
Degree in Transport Management/business administration/economics/communication/mechanical engineering/transport planning/logistics/economics

Experience: 12 years work experience in a related field.
