Senior Scientific Officer 2 posts ( Kasane and Gaborone)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the above positions tenable in the ministry of environment, wildlife and tourism, department of forestry and range resources –Kasane and Gaborone.
Salary scale: D4 (P158 940.00-P175 476.00) per annum
Leave: 30 working days per annum
Benefits:
(i) Optional contributing medical Aid (Government contributes 50% and employee 50%)
(ii) Contributory pension scheme (Government contributes 15% and employees 5%)
Qualification: A minimum of bachelors of Science in environmental science /forestry/ rangeland ecology/natural resources management/fire management science/soil and water engineering/ biological science or related areas.
Experience: A minimum of 6 years served in C1 scale in the field of forestry and Rangeland ecology/natural resources management or its equivalent.

Main purpose of the job:
Supervises, coordinates and directs all functions of the ecological section at district level
Duties:
1. Provides information on forest management
2. Establishes forest and range resources projects
3. Enforces forest and range resources legislations
4. Develops management plans for forest and range resources
5. Produces plans and reports on forest and range resources projects
6. Contributes to development of forest and range resource strategies
7. Undertakes any other related duties as required to meet the exigencies of the service
