Botswana Harvard aids institute partnership is a collaborative research and training initiate between government of Botswana and the Harvard school of public health. BHP is dedicated to fight HIV/AIDS and related public health challenges through collaborative research, education and capacity building.
We seek assertive, hands on, results driven individuals, with good interpersonal skills and keen interest in research to join our team in the following position.
Data Manager / Programmer
The incumbent will be expected to:
• Monitor, maintain and modify critical data systems to guarantee uptime, accuracy, accountability, security and confidentiality
• Assist in rolling out standard data system for the research clinics
• Gather and interpret requirements from clinic staff and submit them to the development team
• Assist in the further development and maintenance of the existing research system
• Train and mentor clinical personnel on research systems.
• Act as first line support for clinic staff
• Quality assure data and software systems and participate in site audits
• Assist research staff with research data needs.
• Maintain documentation
• Prepare monitoring reports
• Ensure ethnical standards and procedures for research with human beings are maintained.
Required skills and qualification
• At least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS) or other related degree.
• Programming skills in python (or Java/PHP) and SQL.
• Experience working in a medical research environment is a advantage
• Relevant certifications are an advantage
• At least 3yrs working at a similar level.
