Position: Programme Assistant
The PA has to assist the FES Project Coordinator in the implementation of projects and activities in the areas approved by the German Ministry of Development Cooperation.
Main Duties
- Conceptual planning organization and implementation of activities in the programme area of climate change, energy and sustainability
- Conceptual planning, organization and implementation of activities in the national programmes on Madagascar, Malawi, Swaziland and Lesotho
- Report writing
- Thematic research, elaboration of papers and presentations as per assignment by the FES Project Coordinator
- Cooperation, communication and networking with relevant national and regional project partners
- Cooperation and communication with other FES Offices in the region
- Administrative and office management duties
- Any other duties the FES Project Coordinator might assign
Required Qualifications
- University degree (BA,MA) in Political Sciences and/or International Relations
- Work, study, internship experience outside of Botswana
- Knowledge of political and economic challenges related to Climate Change
- Sound understanding of political and economic challenges in Southern Africa
- Willingness to thematically focus on political situations in Madagascar, Malawi Swaziland and Lesotho.
- Experience in project management and implementation
- Good experience in computer applications, such as Word, Excel, Power Point etc as well as in the use of the internet
- Excellent communication skills
- High social commitment
- Fluency in English and French
- Willingness to learn German
- Health Certificate
