An affiliate john Hopkins university, a global leader in improving health care for women and their families, seeks to recruit highly qualified staff to support the ministry of health as part of the national safe male circumcision (SMC) program and Botswana combination prevention project (Ya Tsie).
Position: HIV Counseling and Testing (HCT) Lay Counselor for MC Services
The counselors will provide skilled HIV Counseling and testing services to MC clients as part of SMC minimum package as stipulated in the Botswana ministry of health guidelines. This position will require frequent travel with the clinical team to provide outreach services and support campaigns around the country. The position will require flexibility and close collaboration with the clinical team.
Required competencies: diploma or certificate in HCT counseling from an accredited training institution; minimum one year of HCT provision experience in Botswana; proficiency in spoken and written English and Setswana; good interpersonal and communication skills. Previous training and experience with circumcision skills. Previous training and experience with male circumcision services is preferred.
