An affiliate john Hopkins university, a global leader in improving health care for women and their families, seeks to recruit highly qualified staff to support the ministry of health as part of the national safe male circumcision (SMC) program and Botswana combination prevention project (Ya Tsie).
Position: Nurse/ Community Linkage Officer
This position responsible for creating demand for safe male circumcision services in the communities include in the study throughout Botswana. It entails close collaboration with the HIV counseling and testing teams, local authorities and community gatekeepers, demand generation work within the communities, and supporting a clinical team providing SMC services.
Required competencies: diploma or bachelors’ degree in nursing, at least 3 years of nursing clinical experience, surgical experience preferable, experience in HIV/AIDS counseling, valid registration with the nursing and midwifery council of Botswana (NMCB), excellent interpersonal and team playing skills, good communication skills, fluent written and spoken English, willingness to travel and be placed in different locations throughout Botswana for extended periods of time (6-8 weeks)
