An affiliate john Hopkins university, a global leader in improving health care for women and their families, seeks to recruit highly qualified staff to support the ministry of health as part of the national safe male circumcision (SMC) program and Botswana combination prevention project (Ya Tsie).

Position: Demand Creation Officer

This position is responsible for ensuring efficient provision of quality safe male circumsion services at the ministry of health facilities throughout Botswana. In close coordination with the medical officer, the demand creation officer will work with the site team to ensure smooth running of the services as well as develop, plan and execute demand creation activities to maximize the use of services. This position entails frequent travel to organize and support outreach and campaign activities in the district and other parts of Botswana. The demand creation officer will be responsible for establishing and maintaining close collaboration with members of the SMC team, the facility management, the district health management teams (DHMT) and other stakeholders.

Required competencies: a diploma in administration, human resources, social sciences, business management, public health or other related field. Previous experience in administration of healthcare services is a must. A clinical background is an added advantage. Excellent problem-solving, proactiveness and decision-making, organizational and communication skills, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a demanding environment. Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, flexibility, diplomacy, cross-cultural communication, willingness to listen, and respect for colleagues.
