The Attorney General’s Chambers is an extra Ministerial Department under the Ministry of Justice Defense and Security. It exists to prosecute all criminal cases at the public instance; litigate civil cases on behalf of government, draft legislation and statute law revision: negotiate and draft commercial and international agreements and provide sound legal advice to government, in a prompt, professional and responsible manner.
The Attorney General’s Chambers invites applications form suitably qualified citizens for the following positions:

Senior Records Assistant II (B1)
Division: Corporate Services
Tenable at: Lobatse

Qualified Applicant(s) Profile:
To be considered for appointment, applicants must have at least a certificate in Archives and Records Management
Applicants should have served at least two (2) years satisfactory performance as records assistant/archives assistant or equivalent

Main purpose of job
Assists with the running of the activities of the records management units within the department
Duties
1. Sorts, registers and dispatches mail
2. Files records
3. Maintains current and semi current records
4. Retrieves files for action officers
5. Maintains adherence to the laid down rules and procedures for proper functioning of a records management unit
6. Manages a bring up diary
7. Marks mail to relevant action officers
8. Arranges through the supervisor for the transfer of closed records
9. Undertakes any other duties as required to meet the exigencies of the service
Salary scale: B1 (P52, 140.00-P62, 292.00) per annum
Leave: 20 working days per annum

Benefits: Optional contributory medical aid scheme with 50% from government and 50% from employee. Contributory for pension scheme (government pays 15%, employee 5%)
