Senior Safety Officer
Purpose:
The Senior Safety Officer is responsible for documenting and reviewing all aspects of the safety management system of Air Botswana Engineering and maintenance in consultation with maintenance quality and safety manager (MNT-Q&SM).His primary role is to ensure that the Safety Management system is functioning and vibrant within engineering and Maintenance division. He/she will interact as necessary with the respective sections as they relate to the SMS and will act as the central repository for all SMS documents, policies, and manuals. Through risk management they will asses the need for changes, manage process flow write, present and distribute technical data, and promote staff awareness thereby establishing a robot companywide safety culture.

Key performance areas
1. Develop and review company safety manuals, policies, guidelines and procedures
2. Conduct investigations of incidents/accidents and provide status o company safety management on a quarterly basis
3. Develop safety audits checklists to address site or airplane specific requirements
4. Contribute to the development of company safety related policies, guidelines and procedures
5. Develop an independent safety audit system to monitor and confirm adherence to company safety policies and procedures by all personnel.
6. Establish, in cooperation with the corporate office, a comprehensive approach to safety and to introduce systems to achieve safety oversight
Requirements
A minimum of Diploma in Aeronautical engineering or equivalent and possession of safety management system training is required.

Two to three years experience in aircraft maintenance will be a district advantage.

Basic understanding and experience in aircraft maintenance will be an added advantage
