The Botswana Tourism Organization (BTO) is a corporate established through an act of parliament with the mandate to: market and promote Botswana’s tourism product; grade and classify tourist facilities; and to promote investment in the tourism sector.

With its head officers in Gaborone, BTO operates seven (7) satellite offices along with information centres across the country, as well as office representation in the United States of America, Europe, United Kingdom and Ireland markets. In addition, BTO facilitates a number of communities based under the community based natural resource management policy across the country in their development of tourism products.

BTO invites applications from suitably experienced and qualified candidates for the following position:

Procurement Officer
Main purpose of the job
To source goods and services cost effectively in accordance with laid down procurement procedures as required by BTO head office and satellite offices and ensure sufficient to enable delivery of effective services.

Key performances areas
• Administer procurement policies and procedures as well as guiding on tendering processes.
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with key suppliers
• Facilitate assets disposal processes and procedures
• Value for money purchasing, by ensuring goods and services are supplied in the right quality, cost and time.
• Ensuring customer satisfaction by offering the best service at all times to both internal and external customers.
• Managing costs within acceptable market trends.

Job requirements

• Business related degree
• At least 5 years experience in suppliers and materials management and logistical services in a multi-location environment.
• A professional qualification in supplies management,i.e. chartered institute of purchasing (CIPS) will be an added advantage
