MRI Botswana Limited, a leading health care services company is looking for seasoned and self-driven individuals to fill the following vacant positions
Medical Officers (2) – onsite medical clinics
The position reports to the operations manager: healthcare services
Key accountabilities:
• Manages total health of the workers
• Provides primary healthcare services to onsite employees to improve their health and wellness
• Consults and treats all cases requiring medical attention
• Manage and report all cases of injury on duty and evaluate all medical panel cases.
• Monitors the delivery of the on-going awareness on specific health risks
• Monitors and delivers on-going education on various health preventative measures
• Ensures periodic site visits are done in collaboration with site safety officers and monitors compliance with safe working procedures
• Acts as medical escort when required for appropriate medical cases
• Assists in the management of air ambulance and aircraft charter providers and their service and safety standards
• Identifies the need to evacuate the patient
• Recommends the evaluation mode of transport to the medical advisor on call
• Ensures adherence to the on-site emergency response plan and conducts regular emergency response plan and conducts regular emergency drills with assistance from the medical contact centre.
• Ensures that de-briefing of the drill is done and a remedial action plan is put in place
• Conducts site surveys and medical audits and formulates emergency medical procedures as per specifications when required to do so.
Qualifications & experience required:
• Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery (MBChB, MBBS)
• Valid registration with Botswana health professions council
• Post graduate qualification or experience in occupational health medicine, ATLS, ACLS, AHCP and PALS will be an added advantage
• Practical experience in emergency medical service practices will be added advantage
• Five (5)years experience in a clinical environment preferably in a managed care setting
