The Attorney General’s Chambers is an extra Ministerial Department under the ministry of state president. It exists to prosecute all criminal cases at the public instance; prosecute, defend or settle civil cases in behalf of government, draft legislation; produce law reports, negotiate and draft commercial and international agreements and provide sound legal advice to Government, in a prompt, professional and responsible manner. Attorney General’s Chambers invites applications from suitably qualified citizen for the following positions;

Salary scale:
B1/2 (P41 688.00-P49 992.0 pr annum)
Leave : 20 working days per annum
Benefits:
Optional contributory medical aid scheme with 50% from Government and 50% from employee, contributory pension scheme (government pays 15% employee 5%)
Qualifications:
Junior certificate/Cambridge plus either National Certificate in Secretarial studies, intermediate type writing, advanced type writing or their equivalent. Direct entry to this grade will be limited to candidates who have at least two (2) years relevant experience.

Main purpose of the job:
To type from manuscripts and typed draft materials including complex tabulations and reports.
Duties:
1. Type letters, minutes, reports, notes from manuscripts or other forms of copies and files copies.
2. Produce copies from original scripts
3. Checks his/her work for correctness and proper layout
4. Keeps up to date with Public service procedures and practice regarding the use of abbreviations, correction of first draft and in addressing of official correspondence.
5. Over sees the work of junior staff and provides on the job training.
6. Undertakes any other related duties required to meet the exigencies of the service.
