The Attorney General’s Chambers is an extra Ministerial Department under the ministry of state president. It exists to prosecute all criminal cases at the public instance; prosecute, defend or settle civil cases in behalf of government, draft legislation; produce law reports, negotiate and draft commercial and international agreements and provide sound legal advice to Government, in a prompt, professional and responsible manner. Attorney General’s Chambers invites applications from suitably qualified citizen for the following positions;

Main purpose of the job;
To prepare for and prosecutions of criminal cases at Magistrate courts and high courts including the conduct of appeals before the Court of Appeal and review of cases before the High Court inquest and drafting of documentation for extradition.
Qualified applicant (s) profile:
To be considered for appointment, applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Law complemented by at least Four years experience. Applicants must be currently admitted to practice in the Courts of Botswana in terms of the Legal Practitioners’ Act cap 61:01). They should have served at D2 Level in the Public Service.

Salary scale:
D1 (P241,704.00-P26659.844.00) per annum plus 30% of basic salary as scarce skill allowance.
Leave: 30 working days per annum.
Benefits:
Optional contributory medical aid scheme with 50% from Government and 50% from employee, contributory pension scheme (government pays 15% employee 5%)
Robe allowance of P1 986.00 per annum
