Manager
Fiona Enterprises (Pty) Ltd is looking for a suitable candidate to occupy the post of manager-horticulture
Requirements:
• Degree in horticulture/agriculture
• 3-5 years of working experience
• Good leadership and motivational skills
• Diploma in computer applications will be an added advantage
Key performance area
• Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including utility and labour costs
• Enforce sanitary practices for vegetable and fruits handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of farm areas
• Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of vegetable and fruit supplies and ensuring compliance with the operational standards, company policies and local laws
• Responsible for inventory management and ensuring the inventory controls sheets (including stock count sheets) are updated and reported to the management in an accurate and timely manner
• Responsible for ensuring uninterrupted product supply chain to the market and ensuring the production is as per the cropping pattern
• Assigns workers to duties such as cultivation, harvesting, maintenance, grading and packing products
• Plans planting and harvesting schedules, changes in fertilizers, herbicides and cultivating techniques
