Assistant Research Technician (Chemistry)
6 months Fixed Term Contract
Main purpose of the job:
To perform routine chemical analysis of food and related tasks; including sample handling and preparation, maintaining equipment and the environment of the laboratory in conditions appropriate for analytical work according to approved and documented procedures.
Key effectiveness areas:
• Rapid analysis turnaround time
• Accurate record keeping
• High level competency in equipment use and test method performance
• Cleanliness of laboratory equipment and facilities
Position requirements:
A minimum of diploma in laboratory technology or analytical chemistry or equivalent qualification is required. Experience in food analysis or similar chemical analysis (in particular using AAS, GC or HPLC) in a commercial laboratory would be an advantage.
Remuneration and benefits:
• 5, 000.00 BWP per month for all the above positions
• Severance benefit
• 50% contributory medical aid
