Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a Soda Ash and Salt producing company situated at Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionized. Employees and their families live in Sowa Towa, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts of recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis, squash, swimming and golf. There is also an excellent English medium pre primary, primary and secondary school as well as public primary and junior secondary schools.

Position: Fitter Machinist
Job summary
The manufacture and repair parts in support of plant maintenance functions and to fulfill mechanical standby and shutdown requirements.
Key performance area
• Machining/repairs of plant equipment
• Safety carries out the day to day machining services for the plant, workshops and general
• Supervision of subordinates, Training and Development
Requirements
• Ideally “o” levels or equivalent plus recognized 4 years Trade Apprenticeship (NCC) in fitting/machinist.
• 4 years post qualification experience preferably in a heavy industrial plant environment. The candidate must have a valid light motor vehicle driver’s licence.

• Ideally standard seven (7) /junior certificate
• 1 year working experience as crane operator with capacity of 30-50 tone
• A driver licence of a mobile crane (code L4C)
• An extra heavy duty licence will bean added advantage
