Systems Administrators
Job summary
• To provide end user support and routine back office IT service
Requirements
• Degree in computer science or information Technology, a Bachelor of Science degree would be an added advantage.
• At least three (3) years professional experience dealing with network administration, server management, security management and troubleshooting of the windows environment.
• A valid driver’s license
Principal Accountabilities
• Supports LANs, WANs, network segments, and internet and intranet systems.
Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers
• Configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage etc in accordance with standards and BNOC operational requirements.
• Install and configure systems.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
• Contribute to and maintain system standards
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduling jobs monitoring to identify any possible intrusion
• Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up the appropriate media, recovery tapes site as necessary.
• Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary
• Create, change and delete user accounts per request
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures coordinate and communicate with impacted
• Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory and disk partitions as required.
• Administer serves, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, and firewalls, phones, Smartphone’s, software deployment, security updates and patches.
