The Botswana-UPenn Partnership (BUP) was formed through collaboration between the Botswana Government, University of Botswana, and University of Pennsylvania. We aim to improve clinical care of HIV infected and affected persons, advance research and enrich academic life. BUP invites a dynamic, self-motivated & qualified individual to apply for the position of:
Job title: Human Resource Coordinator
Position Type: Full time on contract for 1 year-renewable
Position purpose: The incumbent will serve to manage, implement and support the future development of the organization’s Human Resources system, standards, policies and procedures.
Key Performance areas include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Develop and implement process and tools for effective staffing, needs assessment, recruiting, screening, selection, hiring and orientation
• Coordinate the performance management evaluations and implementation of performance review procedures
• Develop, adapt and implement comprehensive and legally compliant HR Policies and procedures
• Coordinate and support all necessary registration of citizen and foreign workers, internally and externally
• Manage staff welfare services including counsel and advise and general communications
• Ensure consistent implementation of grievances and disciplinary procedures
• Work with the country operations officer to review and update compensation standards for BUP
• Ensure the attraction, motivation and retention of competent staff to achieve BUP vision and strategy
• Serve as liaison between departments, faculty and staff
Position requirements:
This position requires independence and a willingness to perform both high and low level tasks directly. Candidates should have excellent reading and writing skills in English and Setswana must be able to work across cultures and be willing to go an extra mile in assisting the various programs. The successful candidate will be polite and service oriented, but also pragmatic, efficient and sensible.
Qualifications: Degree in HR Management, HR Development, industrial relations or a related field
Experience: At least five (5) years of experience working in a related field with interpersonal skills at a higher level.
