The mineral development company of Botswana Pty Ltd special purpose of vehicle (SPV) is looking for qualified and experienced citizens for the below stated positions;
The incumbents will be appointed on a three year contract.
SPV is an interim entity towards the establishment of Minerals Development Company of Botswana (Pty) Ltd-(MDCB) a company wholly owned by the Botswana Government. The primary objective of MDCB is to manage the investment portfolio in order to maximize wealth for the government of Botswana in the Minerals Industry.
Company Secretary
Main purpose of the job:
Responsible for the efficient of the company, particularly with regard to ensuring compliance with government regulations and that board of directors’ decisions are implemented.
Position requirements:
Qualifications: Bachelor of commerce, LLB or CIS/International Board Exam
Experience: Minimum of 8 years relevant experience
Duties
a) Manage the provision of general secretarial services which entails:
• Agenda Planning
• Meeting organization
• Drafting of minutes
• Meeting logistics
• Communication with and between board and management
b) Act as the advisor to the CEO/Directors of the company
c) Liaise with auditors, lawyers, tax advisors, bankers and shareholders.
d) Sit on executive committee Meetings
e) Ensure the company meets its compliance obligations under relevant laws and the requirements of regulatory authorities
