Vacancy: Autopsy Assistant - B3/B2

Botswana Police Service is offering an excellent carrier opportunity to highly motivated individuals for the position of autopsy assistant. The vacancy exists in the Forensic Science Services. The candidates responsibly will be to assist the forensic pathologist in performing medico legal investigation of deceased persons in Botswana. The post is for male and female with the following qualifications:
• Botswana citizens
• Aged between 18-30 years
• Being physically fit
• Having no criminal record
• Having good character
Salary: B3/B2 (P33 696-P48528)
Leave: 20 working days per annum
Benefits: (I) Optional contributory medical aid scheme (government pays 50% and employee 50%)
(II) Compulsory contributory pension scheme for permanent and personable staff (government pays 15% employee pays 5%)
Qualifications:
Botswana general certificate in secondary education (BGCSE), 30 points and above with at least C in English, Maths, Biology and any other science subject
Or
Cambridge overseas secondary certificates (COSC) with fisrt or second class pass with at least C in English, Maths, Biology and any other sciences.
Or
Certificate in Anatomical Pathology Technology or equivalent tertiary science subjects will be an added advantage.
Duties:
1. To assist pathologist in performing post mortems.
2. Helps in preserving corpses
3. Prepares paper work pertaining to post mortems
4. Maintains mortuary equipment and levels of consumables.
5. Maintains absolute cleanliness of mortuary
6. Carries out preventative services on all mortuary equipments and instruments.
7. Undertakes any other related duties as may be required to meet the exigencies of the services.
