The Botswana International University of Science and Technology is looking for a top caliber Deputy Vice Chancellor to direct and drive the academic portfolio of the University into a highly reputable teaching and research institution.

The successful applicant will initially be appointed on a five year fixed term contract.
The candidates should have *An earned doctorate qualification and be a full professor in a science, Engineering, or Technology related field * At least 10 years of outstanding record in teaching and research with at least 5 years’ experience at the level of Dean or above *Excellent entrepreneurial skills including proven budgetary, management and teamwork skills in an academic institution, and clear understanding of the social , financial and political implications of decisions made * Knowledge of academic programme development, implementation, management and assessment at both the undergraduate and graduate/post graduate levels * Ability to collaborate and relate effectively with all University stakeholders * A compelling leadership style with vision and ability to develop and implement plans to achieve key strategic objectives of the University.
Key Performance Areas * To provide academic, administrative and financial leadership for all colleges of the University, and all of the support service units within the academic structure that support the academic mission. The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs will ensure that the university achieves its strategic academic goals , vision and mission * Oversees academic policy development and implementation * Monitoring performance of academic programmes, including developing and/or implementing outcomes assessment systems to meet internal requirements as well as standards of relevant external bodies. Promoting innovation in teaching and learning to ensure a rich student –central environment across the University * Facilitating and promoting inter-disciplinary programmes, studies and research * Leading the development, implementation and monitoring of academic support programmes and services to ensure student success *Facilitating community/civil and industry engagement, including development of partnerships with business and industry as well as other institutions * undertakes any other duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor and other relevant University authorities.
