Freelance Reporters (2) –Francistown
Key job Responsibility:
Researching and writing news articles, features and analysis for the company’s publications-including supplements and other special projects within the set deadlines. Ensuring that the news articles you write for publication are fair, balanced and accurate. Ensuring that your news reports are not malicious, libelous or defamatory. Working closely with the News Editor in the development and promotion of the company’s flagship publications. Ensuring that all copy submitted for publication meets the established quality and professional standards. Executing any other function delegated by the senior editors.
Key Qualifications & Competency Requirements:
Basic Diploma or Degree in the humanities or social sciences; journalism or media studies, economics or finance, business, public administration or similar field.
Key Attributes:
Ability to cultivate a pool of reliable and informed sources. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to uphold and protect the image of the company by being courteous in dealings with stakeholders including sources of information. Knowledge of professional ethics and CBET’s Editorial Charter. Possession of a strong news analytical skills. Capacity to work under constant deadlines.
